PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONThe TEMPERATURE SENSOR type ETEX is an equipment designed to be used in hazardous areas as a sensing element for measuring process or ambient temperatures. The TEMPERATURE SENSOR type ETEX consists of a flame-proof enclosure made of stainless steelwithout welding containing a temperature sensor internally connected to a cable and fixed with a certified cable entry. The TEMPERATURE SENSOR type ETEX can be installed in the following positions, according to the fixing type that each version of the enclosure is provided with: 1. in the walls of a process line – all models; 2. in ambient – models 01, 02, 03 and 05; 3. in mines (only if the cable entry is certified for mines) – all models; 4. in mines, fixed to a connection box – models 01, 02, 03 and 05. The product can be installed in zone 1 or 21 (or less dangerous, zone 2 or 22), with the sensing part (the part of the pipe opposite to the cable entry) located in a zone 0 or 20 (or less dangerous, zone 1 or 21 or zone 2 or 22). If the product is installed with the sensing part in zone 0 or zone 20 the user shall install a suitable fuse dimensioned according to the specifications of this manual in order to limit (in case of rare fault) the maximum power delivered to the internal process zone. MODELS In this paragraph all the available models are illustrated, and for each of them a typical installation setup is described. Model 01 The TEMPERATURE SENSOR type ETEX is provided complete with certified cable entry and inside sensing element with cable (not shown in this drawing). This drawing illustrates the typical installation setup of this model. The yellow part of the sensor enclosure is the threaded part, it can be used to fix the temperature sensor to a connection box.The sensor is fixed to the process walls clamping it on the thinner part with a fixing means (a cable entry) to the flange soldered to the process walls. Model 02The TEMPERATURE SENSOR type ETEX is provided complete with certified cable entry and inside sensing element with cable (not shown in this drawing). This drawing illustrates the typical installation setup of this model. The yellow parts of the sensor enclosure are the threaded parts: the long threaded part can be used to fix the temperature sensor to a flange soldered on the process walls, the short threaded part can be used to fix the temperature sensor to a connection box. Models 03 and 05The TEMPERATURE SENSOR type ETEX is provided complete with certified cable entry and inside sensing element with cable (not shown in this drawing). This drawing illustrates the typical installation setup of this model. The yellow part of the sensor enclosure is the threaded part, it can be used to fix the temperature sensor to a connection box. The difference between the two models is only in the available dimensions. An O Ring grants the necessary sealingModel 04 The TEMPERATURE SENSOR type ETEX is provided complete with certified cable entry and inside sensing element with cable (not shown in this drawing). This drawing illustrates the typical installation setup of this model. The sensor body is flanged so that is can be fixed with three bolts to a stand.In this setup the sensor is used to measure the ambient temperature (and not the process temperature). When installed in internal zone 0 or 20 the equipment shall be protected by the user with a fuse selected according to the following table, that shows the possible voltages of the equipment:
